The organisers of the UK’s biggest built environment conference – UKREiiF – has opened a call for the sector’s entrepreneurs and innovators to apply for its newest initiative, The Pitch at UKREiiF.

The team has joined forces with us and community-focused, B Corp-certified placemaking specialists Patch to create a brand-new platform for innovators, disruptors, and problem-solvers to promote their business to a star-studded audience of investors and a top-level panel of industry leaders in Leeds on Thursday 23 May.

With The Pitch set to be hosted in our Pavilion at UKREiiF, the organisers are inviting applications from start-ups that have a product or service ready to scale across the UK, with guaranteed exposure to the senior industry leaders who can make it happen.

Simon Toplass, Group CEO at Pagabo, said: “Our industry is packed to the rafters with entrepreneurial spirit and new ideas that need a chance to be heard. With such a large audience of more than 11,000 investors and wider industry professionals, UKREiiF provides the perfect platform for those ideas and innovations not just to be heard, but driven forward.

“We’re incredibly pleased to be working with the organisers and Patch on bringing together The Pitch, and look forward to seeing the applications that come in – as well as hosting the session in the Pagabo Pavilion in May.”

UKREiiF director Matt Christie said: “Our event has grown three-fold since 2022 and one of our guiding principles is enabling access to all manner of organisations no matter their budget or stature.

“The Pitch at UKREiiF is an exciting new addition to our agenda as we look to create more interactive content beyond the world-leading panel discussions and keynote addresses that have made our summit the place to be. We are delighted to be working with Pagabo and Patch to provide exposure and opportunity to the next generation of entrepreneur.”

Shortlisted companies will receive four free full-event tickets for UKREiiF 2024, the option to host a pop-up exhibition stand on site and a chance to pitch their business live on stage in front of specialist investors. The Pitch has been designed to ensure a smooth and easy application process, focusing instead on providing an ideal, low-risk chance for businesses to take things to the next level.

Freddie Fforde, founder of Patch, said: “We know that breaking through with an innovative new product in real estate can be a daunting challenge, particularly if you’re an outsider. Both large stakeholders and the innovative new ideas of startups need each other to develop the full potential of our industry.

The Pitch can become the key mechanism for introducing new ideas that change the future of real estate as we know it, introducing a more diverse range of ideas and people that we’ve seen before.”
