Finance Manager
Responsibilities:
The Finance Manager plays a central role in delivering accurate, timely and well-controlled financial reporting across Pagabo Group. This will include:
- Supporting and help drive the month-end close process
- Supporting the preparation of the monthly management accounts
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of close processes, reporting packs and review controls, helping to shorten the close timetable and improve the quality of financial information
- Supporting balance sheet integrity, ensuring all key control accounts are reconciled monthly, reviewed, and supported by appropriate and well-documented evidence
- Identifying, investigating and resolving reconciling items promptly, clearing aged or unexplained balances and escalating material or unusual issues with recommended actions
- Preparing audit schedules, supporting analysis and documentary evidence for the annual statutory audit, ensuring each is complete, accurate and cross-referenced to the underlying records
- Acting as a key day-to-day point of contact for the external auditors, responding to queries clearly and promptly and coordinating information requests across the finance team
- Supporting the preparation of the statutory accounts and related disclosures, ensuring reported numbers tie back to the trial balance, underlying records and reconciliations
- Maintaining audit-ready files throughout the year, not just at year-end -to reduce year-end pressure, support an efficient audit and evidence a strong control environment
- Supporting compliance with relevant tax, regulatory and statutory reporting requirements
- Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual processing and strengthen the reliability of financial reporting and controls
- Supporting finance system improvements, data-integrity checks and transformation projects, helping to embed scalable processes as the business grows
- Helping document and maintain finance processes and controls, ensuring key procedures are clearly defined, understood and consistently applied
- Working closely with the wider finance team, operational teams and senior stakeholders to ensure financial information is accurate, timely and well understood
- Providing clear, credible explanations of financial movements, control matters and audit requirements to both finance and non-finance colleagues
- Supporting the finance team with ad hoe analysis, reporting and projects as required
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with external auditors, advisors, banking partners and other relevant third parties

The role
Working within the finance team, the role supports month-end close, balance sheet control, statutory audit and day-to-day financial governance, ensuring that financial information is robust, complete and suitable for both internal decision-making and external reporting.
This is a hands-on role that combines strong technical accounting discipline with excellent attention to detail and a collaborative approach. The Finance Manager works closely with finance colleagues, operational and framework teams, external auditors and other stakeholders, and will be comfortable operating in a controlled environment where accuracy, process ownership and audit readiness are critical.

Skills and Experience:

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), finalist, or qualified by experience, with strong technical accounting knowledge and a sound grasp of financial reporting standards

Demonstrable experience in a financial control or audit-focused role, ideally within a multi-entity or group environment

Strong financial controls background, with proven experience of month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory audit support

Excellent attention to detail, able to identify issues, investigate root causes and resolve discrepancies with minimal supervision

Organised, proactive and resilient, able to manage competing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment

Strong Excel and financial systems skills, with confidence handling and analysing large volumes of data

A clear and confident communicator, able to explain financial information to finance and non-finance stakeholders alike

Experience supporting external audits and statutory accounts (desirable)

Experience contributing to process-improvement projects (desirable)
