Manager
Requirements:
You will assist the Chief Technology Officer in the successful running of the group’s software development function and will be responsible for the line management of the company’s in-house development resources. This will include:
- Conducting 1-2-1s and reviews for line reports in the Software team
- Successfully delivering the plan feeding product roadmaps and key projects/deliverables
- Overseeing the completion of sprint tasks/Items to satisfy business goals
- Demonstrating exceptional technical skills
- Helping with proof of concepts for various business problems
- Leading on the drive towards standardisation of stack and solutions within the group
- Working with the support team to resolve known issues
- Mentoring other developers to ensure consistency of the team’s skillsets

The role
As the Software Development Manager, you will assist the Chief Technology Officer in the successful running of the group’s software development function. You will be responsible for the line management of the company’s in-house development resources.
You will help lead on architectural decisions, investigate, evaluate, and advocate for the future technical direction of the team and their output.
Working as a leader of the development team you will play your part in overseeing industry best practice solutions to solve customer problems.
Skills / Experience Required:
- Great interpersonal skills with an ability to be able to articulate internally and externally verbally & via email
- Outstanding all-round communication skills and ability to work collaboratively, taking the wider team “on the journey”
- Analytical Thinking, the job requires the ability to analyse information and the use of logic to address work-related issues and problems
- Experience with full stack web development. Preferably working with frameworks such as Laravel
- Experience or an understanding of ISO27001,9001 & Cyber Essential Plus
- To have worked in SCRUM/self-managing teams environment
- A passion for solving problems and providing workable solutions
- The ability to adopt products ensuring a breadth and depth of knowledge across the Group’s applications
- Experience in delivering software ‘projects’ across a range of technologies
- Proficiency in troubleshooting software issues and debugging a large codebase
- Ability to remain calm and level-headed in pressurised situations
- Documenting processes and procedures and presenting ideas to other team members
- A commitment to deadlines and a desire to ‘fly’ the flag for the business
